Prestressed concrete pipe piles have been widely used because of their numerousadvantage,such as high bearing capacity, reliable quality, environmental protection,high construction speed, and good economic efficiency. Pile foundation of Generalbuilding which bear horizontal load and tall buildings which bear horizontal load needto check their horizontal load capacity,because of complexity of pile-soil interaction,the theory and method of lateral loads’calculation is still not perfect. In some regions,There were some differences in the horizontal bearing capacity of the actual resultsand the calculation results which come from the " Technical code for building pilefoundations ",so these issues need to be further studied.This paper collected30testing data of Prestressed Concrete Pipe piles indifferent areas of Tianjin, and these data were summarized. ABAQUS was appliedto simulate the test piles to study prestressed pipe horizontal bearing behavior inTianjin, and the results achieved can provide reference for applications of prestressedconcrete pipe in Tianjin. The main contents and conclusions are as follows:1According to the distribution of hard and soft soil, the site soil in Tianjin candivide into three categories. Apply ABAQUS finite element soft to analysis the pipepiles’ traits for horizontal bearing force, and compare the results with the actualresults. The results show that: by selecting the appropriate calculation parameters,ABAQUS can correctly simulate pile–soil interaction.2The influence of parameters of piles and soil in three kinds of site on the horizontal bearing behavior of the pre-stressed pipe pile was analyzed according to the ABAQUS software. And the change of the deformation, bending moment, and horizontalbearing capacity of prestressed pipe pile was reached.3The horizontal static load test data of representative field of Tianjin was counted. Meanwhile the horizontal bearing capacity of single pile was calculated according to the formula provided by the Technical code for building pile foundations. Then the correction factor β was arrived at through the comparison of the test data and calculation of horizontal bearing capacity of pre-stressed pipe, and it is suggested that the formula of the code be revised by the correction factor β.
