Because of the new requirement of our economic and environmentaldevelopment, the depletion of the traditional primary energy sources mainly built upby coal, oil, natural gas,“how to broaden sources of income and reduce expenditure”has already become one major issue. In a long enough period, seeking the way tobroaden sources of income and reduce expenditure will be the most important workon energy management.“Broadening sources of income” means trying hard to discover new sources ofenergy to replace the traditional energy resources. The new sources of energy includesolar energy, wind energy, tide energy, geothermal energy, etc. It also means findingreliable ways to make the new sources of energy offer us steady, clean andinexpensive energy.“Reducing expenditure” means seeking energy-saving technology to improve theutilization of the primary energy. For now, industrial enterprises count for the majorpart of energy consumption, which means about70%of the energy consumptioncomes from them. Therefore, finding ways to save industrial energy consumption isdefinitely the most important one among others. Our government passed the revised“Energy Conservation Law of the People’s Republic of China” in which the first itemis about industrial energy conservation. The Low Temperature Generation System, which is a new energy savingtechnology, is based on the organic Rankine cycle(ORC)and driven by the waste heatproduced by the production lines from industrial enterprises. The production of theLow Temperature Generation System is electricity which is of high grade and can besent to the internal power grid. The research on the ORC Low TemperatureGeneration System inferred in this article is supported by the national “973” project. There are several kinds of low grade waste heat which can be classified by the heatcarriers as liquid waste heat, condensable waste heat, incondensable waste heat andsolid waste heat. In this article, we will do some research on the ORC LowTemperature Generation System on the ground that we combine the practicalexperience with the basic theoretical knowledge. In this article, we do some study on how to select the working fluid suitable forORC, how to choose the form of different evaporators according to different workingconditions as well as the issues and certain steps that should be paid attention onduring the operation of ORC system.
