According to Chinese latest population census in2010,“the work force” whoare51to59years old, is expected to be shrunk from2015in cities of china, andthe aging population will be intensified year by year, In next decade or twentyyears, the labor population in china could reduce by half; human resources willbe extremely poor probably. The scattered and complicated work had to befinished by the small construction machinery instead of the labor forcepreviously. As a typical representative of mini construction machinery, the skidsteer loader has hundreds of functions, which is a strong assistant to improveproductivity.Since starting the research, development and production of domestic skidsteer loaders late, and the technical reserve is not sufficient, therefore majormanufacturers are still at the stage of exploratory and imitation currently.Although some manufacturers and part suppliers have few experiences, thetheoretical knowledge of design is incomplete, so it is difficult to guide theproduct development.Nowadays many scholars have accumulated some experiences in the studyof power systems, hydrostatic drive system and mechanical travel system forskid steer loader, however, the statement or summary about the affection andrelation of those three systems is few in practical applications of engineering.During the actual design process of product, the technician should master,analyze and coordinate the relationship among the three generally in order todesign the economical production.The main subject is to study the power transmission relationship among theengine system, the hydraulic system and the structure of travel system, matchesand optimizes the power so as to direct the design finally. The paper adopted thethought ways integrating the design working flow in manufactures, and more iscombined with the actual demand of operations to open the inference. 1. Basing on the working conditions of the skid steer loader, travelresistance and power demand are determined. Via the power demand, the paperdeducted the structural relationship between track and wheelbase of skid steerload, and analyzed characteristics and efficiency of chain drive.2. The working conditions which are determined by the above drive andmechanical structure combining with the mature hydraulic fittings in thisindustry to carry out the preliminary selection, and reasoned the powerconsumption and efficiency of hydraulic system.3. Basing on the data inference of hydraulic system matched the powerdemand with torque characteristics and realized the type selection of enginefinally.4. Summarized the analysis and calculation of three systems above,designed and produced a sample machine of skid steer load, made the testingplan and verified the sample machine, then combined the testing data with thetheory to analyze the difference and summarize design rules, aimed to find outthe internal rule and direct the design.
