With the auto industry in the rapid development of the country, as well as electroniccontrol systems used in the car more, electromagnetic compatibility issues within theautomotive systems of electronic products more highlights its importance. Ford has longrenowned as the world’s automotive manufacturers, have their own independent electronicproduct testing standards, including electromagnetic compatibility standards for automotiveelectronics products. This standard became the standard reference for the automotive industry, many electronic products suppliers must understand this standard and make their productscomply with the standard, thereforemany related testing laboratory emerged.Although the standard is clearly defined, but in particular the implementation of the testplatform setting up will still encounter many practical engineering problems, such as theunderstanding of standard, grounded direction, filtering, etc., the different results produced bydifferent scenarios, consequentyly the test may not meet the requirements of the standard.Based on many years of experience in testing platform, according to the basic principleof electromagnetic compatibility, Ford Automotive EMC standards were analyzed, and thetesting platforms were set up. While some of the problems were encountered during theprocess, such as incompetent background noise of the Radiated Emission test platform, theincompetent background noise of the Conducted Emission test platform, the different testresults because of diffenrent types of the switch for Conducted Transient Emission, the causeswere analyzed and solutions weregotten. Ultimately consistent results were obtained from ourlaboratory and an authorized laboratory.
