With the development of science and technology and the improvement of productiontechnology and the standardization of production processes, most products design has becomesystematically and modulated. The connector is the one which achieve the electricalconnection and the signal transmission between each system and module. The reliability ofthe electrical connector directly affects the reliability of the system.This paper focuses on the study of test theory and the accelerated life test methods ofelectrical connector under the combined effects of the two stresses of temperature andvibration. To establish the electrical connector contact life model based on the analysis of theelectrical connector failure mechanism. To optimize the test program with the test designmethods, to conduct an accelerated life test of the electrical connector after finalizing the testmethods. The final data was analyzed from the data obtained from the tests.Firstly, the paper introduces the quality and reliability theory, testing technology andaccelerated life testing of domestic and overseas research to point out the problems.Secondly, to determine the main failure mode based on summarizing the field operationof the electrical connector and the failure condition when testing. To infer physical equationscontact failure after analyzing the contact failure of the mechanism which is the main failuremodes of electrical connectors.Thirdly, the life model of the connector is made according to the failure mechanism andstructural characterization. Several experimental design was discussed in detailed, the uniformorthogonal test was selected as the test program and the experimental conditions, the numberof samples and test acceptance criteria was determined to the accelerated life test program.Fourthly, operate the test method on the HENHA-5cars electrical connector, to analyzethe failure test data and verify the accuracy of automobile electrical connectors acceleratedlife model, and estimate the reliability of the feature quantity on the HENHA-5automobileelectrical connector.Finally, summarize the contents of this paper and propose the future work directions.
