Direct-fired biomass power technology adopted by the domestic biomass power plantsmostly is the introduction of foreign technology. Due to the difference of fuel characteristics,boiler fuel adaptability, operation management and other issues, as a result, such problems assecurity, stability and economics were introduced to the large direct-fired biomass power boiler.According to engineering project, the boiler main technical specification, the fuelcharacteristics, boiler structure and process characteristics of each system are particularlyintroduced. In the same time, combined with its characteristics and with reference to the relatedstandard, the key commissioning programs for the large direct-fired biomass power boiler werestudied and mastered, as a result, which ensures that the large direct-fired biomass power unithave passed72+24hours full-load test and running inspection before putting into commercialoperation.According to the various problems in the process of commissioning and operation stage,such as boiler feeding not stable, wind caps off, combustion instability, high load fluctuation,high exhaust temperature and so on, optimum modification measures of feeding system,blanking device, the induced fans, wind caps and other issues are provided in this paper. thepractice result shows that the retrofit effect was good. In addition, in view of the existing system,and optimization design of the relevant systems was further put forward.Meanwhile, during the period of operation, the large direct-fired biomass boiler’soperational condition were optimized by combustion adjustment. By contrast, test results showthat the optimized operation conditions, the average thermal efficiency of boiler increased byabout4%, the load change rate reduced by±20%to±3%, improved the efficiency of theboiler and running stability, which have certain reference significance to similar domesticbiomass power plant.
