Study On Simulation And Side Sled About Vehicle Restraint System

As the vehicles possessing capacity and driving speed increases, the trafficaccidents also increase markly. From the accident statistics, side collision keeping thehighest accident rate in China. So it is imperative to improve the technical level aboutside crash safety.Side restraint system show great effect in vehicle side impact base on vehicle body.In the process of deployment, sled methodology which could be decrease the cost andtiming is very useful for restraint system optimization. But because of facilitycapability limit and complexity about side crash, the domestic research about side sledis still in the exploratory stage till now.The major job about this work is about the side sled methodology. Three parts areincluded.(1) A systematic introduction of vehicle side crash is gived. The experimentalmethods and evaluation standard in C-NCAP(2012) for side impact are introduced.Then the corresponding impact process in side crash are explained. Besides, themovements of dummy and its injury mechanism and evaluation norms are also studied.Some methods about improvement of side crash are proposed.(2) The component models (include SAB and CAB) are build by MADYMOsoftware, and those models are valid by LIP tests. And then side restraint systemmodel which be correlated with a crash test is finished base on those componentmodels. The restraint simulation model was used to define the rotation angle of door inside sled. And then the simulation process is also introduced.(3) A experimental apparatus for side sled is designed and made base onMitsubishi Hy-Ge facility. And then side sled is successfully conducted by thisapparatus, also under the guidance of the simulation model. The compare resultbetween sled and crash show the side sled test is valid. And then the experimentprocess is also defined.
