Urbanization has enhanced the whole city scape,accelerated theconstruction of urban infrastructure and made great contributions toimproving living standards for citizens. At the same time, with theacceleration of urbanization, industrial expansion and increase in urbanpopulation, the negative impact on the urban environment has appeared.As the representative of large cities in China, Shanghai has beenfacedwith problems including dense population, land shortage in the downtownarea and lack of public green space. It has been one of the issuesconstraining urban development in Shanghai that people are not satisfiedwith recreation demands. Urban green streets possesses functions ofrecreation, landscape, culture and environment, which could effectivelyalleviate the urban open space shortage.On the basis of analysis on the recreational function of urban greenstreets and research on the evaluation system, combining documents,elements analysis and experts’ advice, recreation evaluation system ofShanghai urban green streets is established with AHP from7aspects: road space, street tree structure, road facility, landscape, recreationalexperience, history and culture, ecological environment.By calculatingthe judgement of indicators gotten from16experts with YAAHP andconsistency checking, we can obtain the final index weights of criterionlayer and index layer. The results of criterion layer weights show that:landscape(0.2738), ecological environment(0.1656), roadspace(0.1507),street tree structure(0.1293), recreational experience(0.1208), history andculture(0.1019), road facility(0.0579).Based on the establishment of the recreation evaluation system ofShanghai urban green streets, ten typical green streets in Xuhui andHuangpu districts were assessed by recreation evaluation system ofShanghai urban green streets. The results show that: Hengshan Roadscores highest in aspects of road space, street tree structure, road facility,landscape, history and culture, the total score is85.81, rank in Idegree;Middle Fuxing Road, West Jianguo Road, Ruijin2nd Road andSinan Road score in75-85, the total scoresare81.76,77.26,77.49,77.73,rank in II degree; South Shanxi Road,Yongjia Road, Yueyang Road and South Urumqi Road score in60-75, thetotal scores are74.54,67.67,74.74,68.48,rank in III degree; SouthXiangyang Road score lowest in aspects of landscape, recreationalexperience, history and culture, ecological environment, the total score is 59.87, rank in IV degree.The existing circumstances of Shanghai urban green streets can beconcluded from the results. And the optimization countermeasures areprovided from aspects of road space, street tree structure, road facility,landscape,etc. That recreation evaluation of Shanghai urban green streetsand proposal of optimization countermeasures aims to provide atheoretical basis for the recreation construction of Shanghai urban greenstreets.
