The development, test part and the production are three indispensable andirreplaceable links in the development process of the fast moving flyer. Among them thetest for the high-speed moving objects is a very important part to find the problems of theflyer and seek the improvements. For the high-speed moving objects, the performance testis mainly contained with the range, speed, accuracy and controllability. It should belocationed the objects to get the all information of these tests. When the high-speed movingobjects can transmit the telemetry signal, it can be effectively reduced the equipment costand the system complexity with the passive location methods. In this paper, the time difference of arrival (TDOA) is adopted through comparingwith the various passive methods of positioning. With this algorithm, a high-speed movingobject location system is designed with the PCM/FM signal translated to be used to locationthe fast moving target which can transmit the PCM/FM signal. There are several secondaryreceiving stations each of which is consisted of the receiver and the translator in the systemto location the target with the TDOA algorithm. The main station calculates the time delaydifference between the different secondary stations and the main station with the signalwhich are retransmitted from the secondary stations and received by the main station. Thenlocation the target with the time delay differences with the TDOA algorithm. This paper is mainly about the algorithm of the time delay difference calculation, andit also overall describes the location system of the fast moving target based on the thePCM/FM signal retransmitted. It can be seen that the accuracy of the target location ismainly affected by the accuracy of the time delay differences through the analysis of thelocation accuracy. The accuracy of the time delay difference is shown in the global systemsimulation. It can be seen that with the algorithm used in this paper the estimation accuracyof the time delay difference is achieved a good performance.
