| Epoxy asphalt was widely used as pavement materials of steel bridge and senior highway,and has attracted widespread attention of researchers all over the world due to perfectstability,cracking resistanc,mechanical properties,fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance.Epoxy asphalt compatibilizer is the key to achieve these excellent performance.Epoxy asphalt compatibilizer was synthesized by ring opening reaction by undecylenicacid with ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether.The structure of compatibilizer was characterizedby FT-IR spectrum, the segregation experiments and DMA tests.The results revealed thatthe compatibilizer contained the expected ester group and epoxy group, which improved thecompatibility of epoxy asphalt efficiently.Fixed proportion of epoxy resin, asphalt,curing agent,compatibilizer and additives weremixed to get epoxy asphalt.And the effect of each component on the mechanical propertiesof epoxy asphalt materials was studied.The best formulation for epoxy asphalt binder:thecomponent A was composed by510parts of asphalt,85parts of aliphatic and40parts ofaromatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride,and the component B was composed by100parts ofepoxy resin and20parts of compatibilizer.And the elongation at break of the epoxy asphaltmaterial was226%and the tensile strength was1.96MPa.The best formulation for epoxyasphalt binder:the component A was composed by310parts of asphalt,85parts of aliphaticand40parts of aromatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride,and the composition B was composedby100parts of epoxy resin and15parts of compatibilizer.And the elongation at break ofthe material was158%and the tensile strength was5.9MPa.Epoxy asphalt materials were tested and characterized by thermosetting testing,waterabsorption test,thermal gravimetric analyzer (TGA) and dynamic mechanical analyzer(DMA).The results showed that the original thermoplastic bitumen became insoluble andinfusible thermoset elastomers,and the water absorption of epoxy asphaltl was less than0.3%,which could met the standard of U.S. technical indicators of epoxy asphalt. |
