With trends of the complexity of the project development, project managementis facing growing challenges. The uncertainty to achieve the goal is increasing, sodoes the situation of project schedule delays. The critical chain, a technology used inproject management,had been hot studied by experts in recent years. The criticalchain technology could well balance the resource conflicts/the requirement to shortenthe schedule effectively, together with enhancing the stability of schedule planning,that is to say,this technology could well facing the complex environment and theinteraction of so many factors in the construction process.This article has contained four aspects. Firstly, the author exhaustive teased thepre-existing project managements methods and the duration monitoring technology,including the traditional project management methods/critical chain technology/traditional methods of monitoring the buffer (tricolor Management Act, oppositeAct). Secondly, analyzed the safety time from the comprehensive optimization ofmultiple targets, then redefined the safety time of project activities based on thecomprehensive and quantitative analysis of several main project factors(cost/quality/safety and so on),finally put forward a new method to determine the buffer in criticalchain combined with root variance method. Then the article had built a feedback andcontrol model of duration delay using Topsis method, combined with G1method. Bysetting the buffer warning, realized dynamic monitoring and control of scheduledelays. Finally, put the model built in the previous chapter into the practical using ofproject of Xi’an North Railway Station. Results of this study has some reference value for the application of the criticalchain technology in the construction of the project implementation process, also has acertain theoretical and practical value for the management and control of the projectschedule.
