Along with Chinese economic development and urban modernizationconstruction boom in modern urban night view lighting construction has become anew feature of the development of medium and small cities in China. Night viewlighting construction started for a short period in China, especially in terms of ancientarchitecture exterior space lighting there are many blind, guiding theories associatedwith it are relatively small. Most of domestic research on ancient architecturallighting was launched at the technical level, reflects the ancient architectural featuresand create a suitable environment there is a lot of controversy.From the ancient Chinese architectural characteristics, types and lightingconditions as an entry point for lighting method of ancient Chinese architectureexterior space, lighting, as well as both study its relationship with viewers. On onehand, selecting Beijing like yongdingmen Gate Tower, Wuhan qingchuan Paviliontwo conducted a questionnaire survey of Chinese ancient architecture and sceneluminance measurement, statistical analysis of survey results, exploring better waysof expression of artistic conception of Chinese ancient architecture and features, sumup the viewer demand for lighting and lighting of the senses. The other hand, theresearch results of the questionnaire and brightness measurements as a basis, twobuildings with a computer simulation, different luminance ratio of250scenes andthese scenarios based on subjective evaluation experiments under laboratoryconditions was completed. Through experiments has been most reasonable lightingratio of ancient architecture in China. Hoped their findings for the construction ofancient Chinese architecture exterior space lighting provides a guiding basis.
