Tuned Liquid Damper(it was called TLD for short), a kind of passive energydissipation damping control device, has been research hot pot in the field of civil engineeringin recent years because of its advantage of easy installation and mutiple purposes. At present,The research methods of TLD tank damping force was classified three categories: one isconcentrated mass method, another kind is based on the fluid dynamics equations of motion ofanalytic formulas of numerical integral method, the final method is simulation software withfinite element method. Because the coupling effect involves two physical fields, So thedisadvantages of the concentrated mass method and the finite element simulation are the error,the complexity and the long simulation time, the result is not easy to be convergent and so on.This research comes from the Baotou Science and Technology Bureau IntellecualProperty(2013J2001-2), this paper summarizes the principles of the concentration analysis andthe theory of the method of theoretical analysis, according to their theory, the analytical formulaof TLD reaction force based on the wave theory is deduced, and the3D TLD model is built bythe finite element software ABAQUS to simulation fluid structure coupling. A comparativeanalysis of the time history curves of the three methods is made to selection the best method.Finally, it is proved that the analytical formula can replace the finite element softwaresimulation as a "quasi solid unit" implanted in the construction settlement software. The mainresearch and conclusions are as follows:According to fluid dynamics,a formula for the reaction force of TLD under the action ofvibration is deduced, the acceleration of the equation is solved by Newmark numericalintegration method, the analytical solution of the equation and the comparison between thetraditional Housner concentration and the mass method; The concentrated mass method isequivalent to the calculation speed of the analytical formula of the reaction force in thecylindrical TLD tank, but the accuracy is not high enough to meet the requirements; Usingstandard finite element method to simulate TLD by ABAQUS, draw the reaction force underthe action of vibration, and compare analytical formula of the solution, the results showed that analytical solutions closer to the finite element simulation of the value, and explain the lumpedmass method to deal with the cylindrical tank there may be a large error; The relationshipbetween the reaction force and the acceleration can be implanted into the structural software ofthe building as a unit, the vibration response of the tank is summarized a "quasi solidunit"finally, selected the appropriate size of the tank through the building frequency and seismicspectrum, this method can be used to directly calculate the TLD vibration force by ordinarybuilding structure software and avoid the iteration of solids and liquids, improve the reliabilityof the result and simplificate the complicated fluid-structure coupling calculation, save timegreatly.
