As the growing of economy in China, the energy consumption increases at analarming rate which can increasingly strain the supply-demand relation of energy. However,the building energy makes up about30percent of overall consumption. So energy-efficientbuilding is imperative. The public buildings usually set central air-conditioning system andits density of energy consumption is very large, so it has a large energy saving potential.Based on the situation above, the public building with double-skin facade in Tianjin issimulated,in the meantime some air conditioning schemes and energy saving ability fordouble-skin facade is analyzed.The paper introduces the context of two kind of energy consumption analysis method,static and dynamic energy consumption calculation method. As to the dynamic energyconsumption calculation method, the theoretical basis of EnergyPlus is further discussed.Then the building with double-skin facade (DSF) in Tianjin is modeled and simulated inSketchUp and EnergyPlus, at the same time the weather data of the typical meteorologicalyear is used and the construction information for simulation is input, which includes theparameters of the indoor heat source, temperature setting and the air-conditioning system.By contrasting the energy consumption data derived from actual measurement andsimulation,the physical and mathematical model and simulation method of the building isconfirmed. The reference architecture is set up according to the Design Standard for EnergyEfficiency of Public Buildings and the conclusions of the simulation are the building cansave21%and60.5%energy compared to reference architecture and the building in the80’s,respectively, which meet the condition of Two-step energy saving.Some air conditioning schemes of the building are simulated in EnergyPlus includingdifferent kind of air conditioning system, cold and heat sources, pumps and indoortemperature,. By doing this, the air conditioning system can be evaluated and the resultssuggest that the indoor room can be26-27℃in summer and18-20℃in winter to avoidthe existing situation of too cold or hot in some parts of the building.Combined with the working principles of the DSF, the influence of sunlight ontemperature of the air in the DSF gap is analyzed and the impact of the DSF and inner window materials of DSF on air-conditioning energy consumption are simulated. Thestudies show that during the day the temperature of the air in the DSF gap is mainlyinfluenced by the solar radiation intensity and that the DSF in this building is feasible, theLow-E glass can make the building more energy efficient.
