Based on reading a lot of material about concrete nondestructive testing, andassociated with the electromagnetic wave detection data, the theory and application of usingelectromagnetic wave to detect concrete pipe cavity defects was studied. The general ideaof the paper is arranging theory with practice and use theory to guide practice. Combine thepractical experience、 theoretical knowledge and simulation to study this method andprocess.Concrete pipe has widely used in the actual construction project, the analysis andevaluation of the quality of this structure has already been very important. And the holedefect detection is a common case.For NDT, high efficiency, can carry out remote sensing, high resolution, wide band,and the advantages of strong anti-interference ability, Electromagnetic wave detection wasused in the application of the concrete defect has been a long time. But concrete pipe due toits shape characteristics, there’s no good way to detect this kind of defects. Here, theapplications of electromagnetic wave detection method is used to the hollow detection.Concrete implementation way is based on the test for reference of the lining of roadtunnel. And according to the reflection and refraction of electromagnetic waves in differentmedium interface, using time difference of the received signal concrete pipe surface and theproperties parameters of concrete itself、the transmitting wave incident Angle,the defectdepth and thickness of the up and down can be obtained.At Last,under the known conditions, we can make all kinds of specimens, and thendetect them. By radar images the actual situation of hole defects in concrete pipes can beknown intuitively.The experimental results show that the use of electromagnetic wave detection can notonly realize the nondestructive detection, but greatly reduces the complexity of detection.The application in the concrete pipe hole defect detection is reliable and effective.
