REPORT On Hakka Traditional Dwelling Decorations In XinFeng Town Shaoguan City

Xinfeng Town is located in north area of Guangdong province, the coastal area of Xiangchu culture and Guangfu culture and the core area of Hakka culture particularly have a close geopolitical relationship with Guangfu Culture and Hakka. Migrated Hakka brought rich culture of the central plains. Under the influence of the specific geographical environment and local culture,there formed unique Xinfeng town dwelling decorations, which contains abundant cultural connotation of the Hakka ancestors and thought. Moreover, the remote Geography, slowness of economy development and the incontinences of the traffic make less effect from the outside culture. The local Hakka traditional dwelling decorations are completely reserved in structure, Xingchang Wei from Tanshi country and Rulin di from Dashi country are the representative buildings.But with the influence of urbanization in recent years, Hakka traditional local-style dwellings and decorations are faced with several challenges. Although it has caused some experts and scholars on the study of the region’s attention, for the decoration of the study is relatively small. I still try to make Xinfeng Hakka traditional dwellings decoration as the research object in different aspects, from its geographical history and culture, dwelling decoration parts, the traditional procedure, the theme and so on. I’ll analyze the characteristics and cultural connotation which will be better for how to protect.This article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction part, explaining the source of the subject, defining the sources of research in subject and content, explaining the research purposes and functions, and the research status at home and abroad, research approaches and procedures. The second chapter will analyze the factors in geography and history which influence the form of Xinfeng Hakka traditional dwelling decorations, stressing on its geographical position, topography, climate, population, economy, culture and traditional culture. The third chapter, according to the current situation of the dwelling, expresses the necessity of its research. Then make a research on various decoration parts, decoration, decoration material and its form of expression. It’s for studying dwellings decoration in different angles and levels. In the fourth chapter, according to the previous chapter on the local Hakka traditional dwelling decoration research, a summarize for its characteristics and the cultural connotation will be done. The fifth chapter will analyze the local traditional residence protection and puts forward some Suggestions for its protection and practices.
