Traditional village, the basis of human civilization development, is the coral reflect of Chinese farming culture as well as the material carrier for inheriting Chinese excellent culture. It is the epitome of ancient labors that location layout,streets texture and architectural heritage in traditional village. In the process of urbanization and new rural construction for the past few years, a large number of cultural heritages were destroyed among with the disappearance of many excellent traditional villages. However, it was replaced by the modern rural landscapes called “one side for thousands of towns, one side for thousands of counties ”. One million of ancient towns in China almost have disappeared in eight years from 2002 to 2010. It’s urgent to protect the traditional villages.Taking the theory of ecomuseum as research perspective and Wangyu ancient town, Wangyu county, Ya’an city as research object, this paper analyses objectively the current situation of cultural heritage in Wangyu ancient town and summarizes the conforming problems in the protection and development of Wangyu ancient town through preliminary works such as field measurement,consulting and collecting data. Then, this paper puts forward an idea that building an ecomuseum in Wangyu ancient town on the basis of research results in the protection and development of traditional villages at home and abroad.Taking the concept of ecomuseum as the theoretical support for the protection and development of Wangyu town, this paper proposes an management model which regards residents leading, government assistance, experts support as the core, and a multi-channel protection way of cultural heritage to provide some valued references to the protection way and theoretical research of traditional villages in China.
