A Research On The Landscape Protection And Renewal Technical Routes Of Historic Villages

As the essence of the Chinese traditional culture, the historic villages are in danger nowadays. In this paper, I have sorted out three landscape features of the historic villages in the view of landscape protection. They are separately the idyllic scenery where dominated by the traditional settlement, architectural heritages features, and the cultural landscape of the traditional culture and lifestyles. From the three features, I refined six landscape objects, which are separately the natural landscape pattern, the spatial pattern of villages, streets and alleys; the ancient architectural complex, historic environment elements and the intangible cultural heritages.Based on the six landscape protection objects, through deeply interview and documents analysis, and random sampling 30 historic villages which were officially announced by the country, I analyzed and summarized the technical routes of the samples protection planning. Finally, the protection and renewal technical routes of historic villages have been systematically summed up. That is basic data index system——features and value evaluation——protection and renovation at villages-region level——protection and renovation at villages level. Compared to the technical routes of protection planning, it directly aimed at the six landscape protection objects, and constructed a series of technical routes to them in a new way. As a part of the new technical routes, the construction of basic data and evaluation index system were just rising from the landscape protection objects. The basic data index system was constructed from the view of the landscape protection objects, village profile and the villagers’ protection intention; while the construction of value evaluation index system was based on the evaluation factors of landscape protection objects using the analytic hierarchy process. As for the protection and renewal at the villages and villages-region level, they made a series of protection requirements and control measures, which were directly aimed at the landscape protection objects all the more so.At the end of the article, I took the protection and renewal of Dongcun historic village as an example. Through the on-the-spot investigation, questionnaire survey and seriously literature inquiries, I have set up a basic information database, summed up the value characteristics for Dongcun village and carried out some strategies on the landscape protection and renovation at villages-region and villages level, according to the above trail of thoughts. In the end, I think the landscape protection and renovation in Dongcun village would be solved by the new routes.
