This paper reviews the process of protection and renovation of historic streets briefly.And the challenges historic streets confronted in the new era are introduced including urbanization, city renovation and economic transition.This article first has systematically analyzed the overseas Urban renewal in the significance several stages like city reconstruction city renewal movement and the new city movement, and makes the summary.
