Through the investigation and collecting the related information, based on the existing research results, this paper has field test and simulation test to study the soil arching effect of the high-filled corrugated steel culvert, and according to the characteristic of the soil arching effect and stress condition, obtained the calculation method of the structure internal force. The mainly research contents are as follows:1. Combined with the domestic existing research results of soil arching effect,this paper has a theoretical analysis on the formation mechanism, characteristics, and arching formation conditions of the soil arching effect on corrugated steel pipe, used in highway engineering and study the effects of steel corrugated pipe parameters on soil arching effect.2. Through the outdoor field test on corrugated steel culvert, which is 1-hole,5 meters span, this paper analyses the mechanical properties of corrugated steel culvert under different fill height, and obtains the variation of earth pressure; Using the interior finite element simulation, this paper studies the vertical stress variation of the steel corrugated pipe culvert under different height of fill on the culver or on the side of culver, and compared with the field test, finds the further validation of soil arch effect.3. Through the analysis of force form of corrugated pipe culvert, compared to the calculation method of steel corrugated pipe culvert design at home and abroad,discuss the difference and analysis the reason for the difference. Based on the research of domestic steel corrugated pipe culvert, combined with the actual situation of the country, and according to the thin shell theory, derived the perturbation solution method of the structure internal force, and comparative analysis the interior finite element simulation calculation and field test results.The research results contribute to the study of soil arching effect on steel corrugated pipe culvert, and can solve the technical problems of steel corrugated pipe culvert in highway engineering; on the other hand, the results fill the blank of the perturbation solution of the structure internal force, and also provide technical support for further research and development, which have an important theoreticalsignificance and practical application value.
