This paper gathers material about the feature of high fill embankment culvert structure in mountainous area at home and abroad. On the basis of the large number of field survey and test and due to the combine with the large scale on field test, the research is conducted on problems encountered in steel corrugated pipe culverts used in highway projects through finite element simulation calculate. Meanwhile, the finite element calculations to make full advantage when the field tests and finite element are combined, so better study on the earth pressure, strain and deflection changes of steel corrugated pipe culverts can be obtained. The main results are as follows:1. Through the field tests, earth pressure, stress and strain of steel corrugated pipe culverts are analyzed and the force law in steel corrugated pipe culvert under different filling height of the top tube is studied.The areas on the earth pressure of corrugated steel culvert:Pressure; Found Within a certain filling height, The earth pressure of Corrugated steel pipe circumference increases with filling height, Contrast variation obtained with the tube top tube size and their earth pressure coefficient. Concrete rule is:3m outside of the tube subgrade soil pressure>8m of the tube subgrade soil pressure> tube top soil pressure.unloading arch phenomenon of the high fill is analysed;In addition, the variation of pressure outside the corrugated culvert pipe, culvert and arch culvert is summarized.The areas on the stress and strain of the corrugated steel pipe culverts:the strain distribution around the tube of high fill is studied, the strain variation of steel corrugated pipe culverts is analyzed, and the characteristics which are summarized in order to provide the basis for future construction and theoretical studies.2. By FEM, Obtained culverts vertical earth pressure increasing with soil modulus increases. Earth pressure decreases with increasing thickness, decreases with increasing wavelength and with increasing wave height increases. Meanwhile summed up the smaller the diameter, the greater the culvert top soil pressure; Force characteristics by varying the points at the peaks and valleys, but the biggest point of all internal forces in culvert top.The numerical results and field test results are compared to determine the topography, soil properties effect on steel bellows force and deformation characteristics.The research results solve the technical difficulties in engineering application of the corrugated steel pipe culvert, which have an important theory and project practical value and have brighted application prospect.
