At present, the increasing trend of China’s aging population brought a series of social problems. At the same time also brought great pressure and challenges to the design of nursing home. But now Study on the nursing home design in China is still in the initial stage, the development is lagging behind. Based on this background, this paper study on the internal public activity space in the nursing home deeply. My research attempts to summarize the strategy of humanization design, provide a reference for future design. The design quality of internal public space will largely affect the feelings of the elderly, the enthusiasm of activities and the use of comfort. This paper summarizes the needs of the elderly as the research foundation through the study on the elderly physiology, the elderly psychology, ergonomics, environmental psychology. Then learns from the excellent foreign designs, analyzes typical cases of public space. Through the investigation of representative nursing homes in Chengdu and statistics of the elderly activities, it can analyse and summarize the status and the problems of the internal public activity space in the nursing home in our country. According to the theoretical study and field survey, the article summarizes the design strategy of internal public activity space in the nursing home in the spatial organization, function configuration, space atmosphere construct, space quality improvement, physical environment control from the point of view of humanity. Then achieve the design in the internship according to the design principles. The humanization design strategy is applied to the actual design.Through the above several aspects of the study, the research hopes to provide reference for the internal public activity space in the nursing home in the future and then improve the living quality of the elderly.
