The Renewal Research For The Residential Area In Old City In Large And Medium-sized The Historical And Cultural City In The North Of Our Country

In view of the problem of the current prominent contradictions about the advantages of historical resources and the disadvantages of economic development for the large and medium-sized cities of the historical and cultural city in northern China, double challenges faced by the society and environment of the residential areas in the old city, and the confusion of thought about the modern development or traditional protection for the old city, the author studies it through three steps of the field research analysis, different update strategy,and a typical case of the practice. First of all, through field research some essences are summed up about the ancient dwellings of the large and medium-sized cities in northern China, the causes of situations of the problem and the current problems in residential areas of the old city; secondly, from the "horizontal dimension" and "the vertical dimension" to analyze and summarize the renewal strategy of the residential area in the old city of the large and medium-sized cities in northern China; thirdly, as an "undeveloped" status,the renovation design of residential area in Tianshui West City is discussed and sublimated of practice.The innovations of this paper focus on: through the research methods of “Whole--Individual Case – Whole”, the traditional essence and dross, old and new contradictions,and the status quo problems encountered in the development of the old city in the historical and cultural city are analyzed, which reveals the present situation of their common problems and reasons. At the cultural level, how to develop the residential area in the old city through renewal strategy of different type, how to make different roles better participate in the update process and accomplish by collaboration, and how to establish and perfect the system of community. At the design level, in the perspective of historical resource in old city, the design strategy of residential area in old city is made a scientific reconstruction in spiritual and material level from macro to micro, which guides the urban strategic planning, the protection and urban planning of the old city, the specific strategies of architectural. And the case of the application "renewal catalyst" theory and the establishment of cultural identity community of the node, develops the update strategy to stimulate the vitality area, residential design combined with community construction.This research has important theoretical value: For the value of culture, it provides some value judgments of traditional protection and modern development for the old city in the Historical and cultural city.The researches summed up the traditional essences of large and medium-sized cities in northern China have important reference value to the modern urban planning and architectural design, and the analysis of the present problems and causes for residential area in the old city provides possible directions for further researches. For the significance of social reality, the research on the strategies of cultural level and design level combines the spiritual system and material system, which has an important reference value for the transformation of the old city of ordinary small and medium-sized city, the update of traditional non residential space, the traditional block and traditional village renewal.
