Intake tower is an important part and mainly used for diversion and power generation, flood discharging, etc. It is a important part of the whole hydropower station hub. Baihetan intake tower belongs to the towering structure. Intake tower body forces and seismic features of the tower are very complex under the earthquake, because of the particularity of the tower body structure itself, the coupling effects between the tower body and water, the contact among tower body, back mountain and foundation, so the anti-seismic numerical calculation and stability analysis of intake tower is very significant. Therefore, it has very important significance for anti-seismic design, prevention, and reducing the earthquake disaster loss of hydraulic structures.This paper takes the point of the above problem, making research and analysis about the seismic performance and stability of intake towers of the Baihetan Hydropower stations in the following terms through analysis software-ANSYS:(1)Building a three-dimensional finite element model. A semi-infinite foundation and rock slope are simulated in a massless foundation model, the sides edges of the bedrock are controlled by normal displacement, and bottom edge is using translational constraint. The structural joint between tower body and back mountain is simulated by frictional contact.(2)Static and dynamic analysis of intake tower. Comparing the analysis of stress and displacement of the intake tower in every static conditions, and comparison analysis.To apply the response spectrum method to analyze the self-vibration characteristics of intake towers, the effect of water the intake tower considered as the form of added mass, then combining with the calculate results from the static response to make the views and advices of the seismic performance of intake towers.(3)The stability of intake towers.Calculate the stability under the stuation of the static and dynamic combination, then summarizing the results.
