Research And Application Of The Chinese Manchu Traditional Folk Culture In Architectural Design

Architecture is an important carrier of folk culture. In order to meet the needs and Feng Shui philosophy and aesthetic standards of human life. Architectural style is mainly reflected in the different regions of the national spirit and customs. Manchu nationality is a branch of the traditional Chinese nationality. Its unique history and cultural background forms its unique aesthetic conception and folk culture. We blindly imitate in architectural design which making today’s architecture has lost the meaning of national identity.The folk culture of the Manchu nationality, which is a traditional cultural system,becomes a new focus point of the architects for achieving the goal of inheriting folk architecture culture and innovative architectural design.This paper reviews the traditional folk cultural firstly. Then, refer to the Manchu township in Jilin province, villages preliminary investigation. The field research was performed by the author. The detailed living conditions and traditional architectural culture was recorded and the relationship between the fork culture and traditional architectures was analyzed at the sight of form, technique and functions. The folk culture of the Manchu nationality, which is a traditional cultural system, becomes a new focus point of the architects for achieving the goal of reflecting the traditional cultural symbols in the modern architectural designs.The research is divided into three sections. The first one is the researching stage of the traditional folk culture of the Manchu nationality. In this section, the researching target is the folk culture and architectural culture. In the perspective of history, traditional customs, living conditions, literature and art, the impressive national architectural designs are extracted. Then, the culture content is analyzed which requires the management of the extracted abstract elements. By analyzing the relationship of the folk culture and the architectural design, reasonable strategy is proposed. The final section is the combination of the theory and the practical. Withthe actual projects, solutions will be discussed. The subject is the sub-topics of Jilin humanities and social science research project "Application of the Northeast Folklore and innovation in architecture". In the research process, the trend of culture fusion appears and becomes a barrier to the development of the traditional Manchu nationality culture. In addition, it also becomes a major problem to the researchers in the architectural field.
