| The Grand Canal was incorporated into the "world heritage", successfully, on June 15,2014. In order to protect the heritage better, Hangzhou government decided to make downtown section canal into the urban waterfront landscape in Hangzhou. With the high speed development of urbanization, the Grand Canal were reintroduced to the public life and become a new tourist destination. Therefore, improving the canal waterfront landscape identification is particularly important. At present, improving the canal landscape identification in the landscape planning has very important significance for charging the convergence phenomenon of Hangzhou canal waterfront landscape. In this paper, the evolution of the Grand Canal waterfront space in Hangzhou urban area was briefly reviewed. And the construction strategy of improving landscape identification was analyzed by the in-depth study of Hangzhou canal regional culture, combining with the principle of ecology and systematology and theoretical analysis related to landscape design. Firstly, the area thematic rhythm identification of the large-scale canal waterfront landscape was determined from macro view by GIS method. Then, strong-in-weak landscape rhythm of order was developed and identification was strengthened from psychological and physical aspects. Secondly, from the view point according to the status quo, the particular area of the canal waterfront space was selected as a symbol system to be applied in the landscape planning. Finally, The paper analyzes in a micro perspective that landscape identification was strengthened from the content of the architectural style, sculpture and greening configuration. Consequently, it is necessary to build high-degree identification of landscape in the premise of respect for the natural environment and the protection of historical heritage. Modern design gimmick and regional theme should be combined to create a distinctive urban landscape, finally realizing the symbiotic of cosmopolitan and nationality, modernization and localization. |
