At present, asphalt is widely used in China’s road especially in highway, but serious rutting damage could be appeared in many new roads in a short period of time because of the rapid mileage growth, enhance of the industrial technology of the automobile, increasing of the traffic and vehicle load, growth of sustained high temperature time. This paper, which is based on the analysis of asphalt pavement temperature field and the researches on variation characteristics of rutting from the factors like temperature, load, and the asphalt layer thickness, proposes recommendation value of high temperature performance dynamic stability index in different layer.The paper based on the theoretical analysis of pavement temperature field establishes the calculation model of pavement structure temperature field. Influence of thermal physical parameters on the temperature field is analyzed with the simulated calculation and result analysis of pavement structure temperature field. The simulated values are from the high temperature of representative days and months of Xinzheng expressway.According to the traffic conditions survey of Xinzheng highway, determining the range of axle load and analyzing the mechanical response of pavement structure under different axle load internal and variation of rut with load frequency, and then proposing axle load conversion formula based on the basis of numerical simulation and predicting the rutting of Xinzheng highway.Determining the speed of the scope of the study by the speed summary, analysis of the impact of vehicle speed on rutting show that:with the increasing of speed, pavement rutting is decreased, and the rutting and vehicle speed are not a linear relationship. The rutting is smaller, pavement loading time is shorter as vehicle speed is greater.Analyzing variation of rutting that is based on the perspective of temperature, rut distribution is obtained in the high temperature of representative days and months. The deformation law of road surface is also analyzed.Starting from thickness of the asphalt pavement structure layer and using the regression to fit out the rutting changes with the thickness of asphalt layer, the results show that:as the asphalt layer thickness is increasing,the rut depth is increasing, but the development speed of rutting is decreasing; Rutting is not increasing as the thickness of asphalt layer.Increasing the load and rising temperature can be equivalent in certain temperature according to the time-temperature equivalent principle of temperature and equivalent load analysis.Combined with the pavement structure, this paper proposes recommendation value of high temperature performance dynamic stability index in different layer on the basis of local climate, traffic, structure type and layer. It also gives references for pavement mix design.
