Through the analysis, the contact state is affected by the nature of pantograph, so researching the nature of pantograph has very important meaning.The article will work on four basic performance of pantograph. The basic performance will guide two main performance of pantograph, which includes the flow performance and the safety performance. Considering starting and running of pantograph,the article researches the dynamic performance of pantograph at first. Considering contact state of pantograph-catenary, the article researches the tracking performance of pantograph,and verifies its performance through simulating the vertical acceleration of pantograph.Considering the cornering of pantograph, the article researches the stability performance of pantograph. Considering vibration situation of vehicular running, the article researches the vibration reduction performance of pantograph. Finally, combining with the four basic performances can research the flow performance and the safety performance.The dynamic performance includes the starting performance and maximum speed.According to the structural parameters and dynamic parameters of pantograph, the starting performance can be researched. It includes the scope of work, the static contact force, the trajectory and the time of lifting, and the trajectory is the most main. The research of maximum speed needs not only parameters of pantograph but also fluctuation situation of catenary.Calculating equivalent mass of pantograph is to research tracking performance.
