Transformation And Reconstruction Of Traditional Residential Architectural Language

Xunxian,a town of nearly six hundred years of development history,located in Hebi City Henan Province.It is an important carrier of the Grand Canal culture.It was announced by the State Council in 1994 as the third installment of the historical and cultural city,and it is the only county-level units among 99 national historical and cultural city in Henan Province.The urban pattern and many important historic buildings in the old town are completely preserved.The town has witnessed series of important historical events, and has a very high historical and cultural value.It still holds a lot of traditional elements through historical changes.Since the reform and opening up, the modern accelerated pace of urbanization interference and undermines the protection of the ancient city and greatly affected the traditional style of the city.Leading to the texture of the city broken and ancient city culture has gradually weakened and lost.Currently, the protection of the ancient city of Xunxian into a severe period.The protection, maintenance and repair work without delay.Combined with the development of theory of protection of historical and cultural district,the paper based on research and analysis of architectural language of traditional dwellings of the region and reconstruction and maintenance design practice of historical and cultural district and traditional commercial street.I summed up the architectural features and architectural language through survey and mapping work.I hope that these results can be used in the protection and restoration of the Xunxian ancient town.The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter discusses research background and significance of the paper.Combined with analysis of summary of relevant theory and practice at home and abroad about the ancient city of protection, I determined the content and methods of research. Starting from an overview of the ancient city Xunxian, I analyzed the traditional architecture and spatial pattern of West Main Street Historic Area in the second chapter.The third chapter, I analyzed the flat form,spatial processing and archit ectural modeling, structure and detailed decoration of Xunxian traditional residential architecture through research and mapping.The fourth chapter,I applied building typology and building semiotics to the regeneration of traditional dwellings language to continued the ancient context in the process of constructing- regeneration- interpretation of Xunxian traditional dwellings of languages which based on the analyze of composition of architectural language of the region. The fifth chapter, I analyzed the current situation and problems of the West Main Street Historic Area and proposed improvement measures and design principles, and further analysis of the practical projects.The sixth chapter is the conclusion. I put on the thinking of "recapture the ancient style" for historical and cultural city in our country.
