With the rapid development of economy and society, the process of urbanization in our country is also growing fast, and due to the cost of property damage and casualties caused by the earthquake is also growing. Several large earthquakes in recent years worldwide, making it more attention had to be devoted to the seismic performance of building structures up. However, reinforced concrete columns, which had been built in structures, need to be reinforced and select a reasonable and effective reinforcement method because there are so many factors that affect their safety and using function. For example, the early design code is unreasonable, the damage because of long-term using, poor performance and inadequate bearing capacity because of the aging and construction defects, etc.Basalt Fiber Reinforced Polymer is a new building reinforcement material and it not only has good mechanical properties, high stability and low cost, etc, but also China has abundant raw materials, and our country possesses the independent intellectual property. So it is more suitable for seismic reinforcement structure.This thesis presents a finite element analysis on seismic behavior of RC columns strengthened by BFRP.The main contents are as follows.(1) Based on the large general-purpose finite element software ABAQUS, select the appropriate concrete, steel and BFRP constitutive equation, established the bottom fixed, top load applied vertically continuous, finite element model by low cyclic horizontal load role.(2)The established finite element model was compared with experimental research results to verify the reasonableness of the established finite element model(3) The number of BFRP layers and the area of wrapping affect seismic behavior are studied.The results show that Model can simulate up Basalt Fiber Reinforced seismic performance of reinforced concrete cylinders, in good agreement with the experimental results. Meanwhile BFRP reinforced concrete cylinder can effectively improve the ultimate bearing capacity, ductility and energy dissipation capacity, so as to achieve the effect of strengthening the structure.Finally, this thesis summarizes the finite element analysis results. At the same time, it provides relevant experience for the research of seismic behavior of RC circular columns strengthened by BFRP.
