Groove texture is refers to the object surface which has a certain size and arrangement of groove array.Uneven surface texture has a good performance in hydrophobic, optics, friction,heat dissipation, etc..This paper has studied the influence of groove texture on the tribological performance of the bearing.This paper systematically studied the influence of the groove parameters (width, depth, area ratio, partial texture ratio) on bearing friction coefficient on different load and speed,respectively from the aspects of theory and experiment,specifically studied the texture with different groove shapes on the bearing lubrication performance.This paper choosed point contact ball bearing and line contact roller bearing as a starting point,exploring the influence of groove texture on the performance of their lubrication.Some valuable conclusions are obtained.Firstly,this paper introduces the fluid lubrication theory between the rolling element and inner or outer ring,having the CFD analysis of groove texture and having the contact analysis of cylindrical roller bearing.This paper introduces the using of laser processing method processing groove texture on bearing steel substrate.We have studied the relationship between the groove width,depth and the laser parameters by many experiments.Then this paper processed different sizes of grooved textures on the bearing steel substrate by selecting the corresponding laser parameters,prepared for the follow-up friction test.Secondly.this paper studies the effect of different sizes and densities groove textures on the friction coefficient of the bearing by using spherical disc friction and wear testing machine.Particularly this article analyzes the influence of partial fan-shaped groove texture on the friction coefficient of the bearing.Also this research has studied the influence of different groove shapes on the friction coefficient.It has the CFD analysis for ball bearings by FLUENT.The study founds that groove texture has no anti-friction effect for ball bearings on the overload. But on the light load or medium load there is a certain width, depth, area ratio, ratio of partial texture, shapes of groove texture have the best anti-friction effect.Having design the groove texture for anti-friction effect,we need to design the groove texture according to different work conditions.Some sizes of groove texture has anti-friction effect in one condtions but may be not necessarily suitable for other operating conditions.Finally,we built the experiment platform of laser processing cylindrical roller bearing inner ring.processing different sizes of groove textures on the bearing inner ring.The last chaper has studied the influence of groove texture on the friction coefficient of the bearing,and we has carried on the theoretical and experimental analysis.Whether it is the whole texture or the partial texture.the research shows that on the condition of high speed and light load it has the tendency of anti-friction,but the effect is not obvious.With the other parameters of groove experimental results are basically the same.Results show that grooves on the direction parallel to the direction of the linear velocity would undermine groove anti-friction effect,and it can’t play to the effect of hydrodynamic pressure lubrication. CFD analysis results by FLUENT and the experimental results are basically identical.The results of the study has some guiding significances on anti-friction of the bearing or other anti-friction research.
