As extra-long mountain tunnels of the railway line have much superiority, they have been used more and more widely. But at the same time extra-long mountain tunnels also bring some new problems of disaster prevention and rescue. Based on this reason, the design of railway tunnel disaster prevention and rescue work has important engineering significance. Due to the various characteristics of railway tunnel fire, disaster prevention and rescue of tunnel mainly gives priority to fire disasters. Based on West Qinling Tunnel between Xiaguanying to Guangyuan in newly built Lanzhou-Chongqing railway as the research object, according to China’s Code for Design on Evacuation Engineering for Disaster Prevention and Rescue of Railway Tunnel related standards, combining with the local actual engineering conditions, disaster prevention and rescue system of West Qinling Tunnel is researched and designed deeply.Through analyzing West Qinling Tunnel profile, the main natural conditions and technical standards of the main line, and reference other extra-long railway tunnel disaster prevention and rescue plan both at home and abroad, combining the relevant specification, the subsystems are selected to contained in West Qinling Tunnel disaster prevention and rescue system in the final.When analyzing and designing each subsystem of West Qinling Tunnel disaster prevention and rescue system, two or more designing schemes have designed according to the related specification. Each scheme continues to set a number of solutions. After comparing the advantages and disadvantages, investment schemes, the actual demand and so on of each design scheme, an optimal design scheme will be chosen. The main design results show:(1) the whole tunnel sets up a rescue emergency station at Luojiali Slope, and the emergency rescue station structure uses shelter+intensive cross channel, and emergency rescue station length is 600m; (2) ventilation system use axial flow fan to supply air and air at Luojiali Slope, and shelter disaster is 160m3/s and air exhaust is 264m3/s, open area of pressure release valve is 23.54m2; (3) Disaster prevention water fire extinguishing system of West Qinling Tunnel includes:aqueous film-forming foam hydrant extinguishing, fixed automatic high pressure water mist fire extinguishing and water curtain fire extinguishing system.
