The thesis backgrounds in that much attention has been paid to the research on the characteristic of tunnel fire, but little has linked to the rescue and prevention. The velocity field and temperature field in the on-fire tunnel are simulated in this thesis upon the application of the numerical simulation method. Based on the result of the simulation, the evacuation and rescue under a tunnel fire are analyzed in detail.The rule of temperature diffusion in the different areas of the tunnel is attained upon analysis of lots of the simulation results. The simulations include many cases, such as, various ventilation values, various heat release rate, various fire situation, and the cases whether the jet fans and the door of transverse alleyway are opened or not. And the simulations also include the cases while the vertical shaft and inclined shaft ventilation are operated. And then, based on the simulations, many results are educed according to the relation between the hot temperature and the people's patience under the hot temperature. The results include the safe rescue position and safe rescue time in the upstream area, the safe evacuation position in the downstream area, the possibility of evacuation at one minute later of the fire, and the safe evacuation area at one minute later of the fire. The main conclusions are list as follow.(1) The temperature increases as the heat release rate increases and decreases while the ventilation value increases;(2) The fireman must be in the upstream areas. The safe position for the fireman is farther and farther from the fire source as the heat release rate increases and nearer and nearer from the fire source as the ventilation value increases;(3) If the jet fans are turned on in time, it will help to rescue and the absolute rescue position will be nearer to the fire source.(4) The safe rescue position in the upstream areas and the possibility of evacuation at one minute later of the fire will be farther from the fire source if the door of transverse alleyway is opened. In conclusion, the door should not be opened too early before the people reach.(5) It will help to the people evacuate in the downstream areas while the shaft is operated.At last, the fire in the Yanmenguan highway tunnel is analyzed combined with "The research on the operation management and rescue and prevention of fire in Yanmenguan highway tunnel". It will guide the determination to draft the pre-planned scheme of rescue and prevention and the operation management handbook of Yanmenguan highway tunnel.
