Three Parallel River Region (TPRR) of the Hengduan Mountains is the only way that the Sichuan-Tibet railway must go through. As the biggest north-south structural zone in our country, the geologic hazards there have the engineering-geological characteristic of "three ’big’, one ’strong’", that is large topographic relief, the fast-speed hazards, large-scale hazards and strong structure activity. There are plenty of high mountains and valleys, and the hazard bodis have the characteristic of long-distance movement, big kinetic energy, large scale. Ridges and folds are closely linked. Nujiang fault, Lancangjiang fault, Jinshajiang fault are well developed, geological structures are very complex and geologic hazard happens frequently. All the factors above can cause a huge potential risk to the safety of the railway construction and operation of the Sichuan-Tibet railway. Thus, it is very necessary and meaningful to carry out the research of the stability division of the bank slope in the TPRR of Sichuan-Tibet railway.Based on the investigation in the field and the data collection, the paper carries out the research of the danger division and the characteristic of the bank slope in the TPRR of Sichuan-Tibet railway by the informational method and the ArcGIS software. The main research results are as follows:(1) Making a statistic analysis on the space distribution features, the formation condition and the influencing factors of the hazards in TPRR basing on the spatial analysis of the ArcGIS software.(2) Using the informational method to calculate the factor of the bad geological phenomenon to get information values of every factor and using the ArcGIS software to raster reclassify and to add attributes. Calculated by addition method basing on the above operation to get the comprehensive informational layer of the study area.(3) Building an individual geodatabase which including physic-geographical environment, geologic environment, factor of the bad geological phenomenon, danger assessment of the intermediate layer and danger evaluation results layer for the bad geological phenomenon in TPRR. Building this can make it more convenient for us to manage the data and establish the good foundation for the construction of railway.
