Rail grinding is an important way to repair and maintain the railway line. In the metro transportation lines, rail service life is generally determined by grinding wear and rolling contact fatigue. To prolong the service life of the rail, we should focus on the maintenance and repair. Specifically, it is to lubricate the near interface of rail scientifically and effectively and to contour grinding the fracture surface. It turns out that the grinding way to control the contact fatigue, prevent rail corrugation, grind and crack propagation has a good influence, and can obtain enormous economic benefits from the long-term practice of railway maintenance abroad. It is late to do research on rail’s maintenance in our country, so our equipment’s level and contour grinding technology is far behind the developed countries. We have to import advanced equipment for early grinding equipment’s low automation levels and grinding precision. From long-term economic development, in order to realize the complete location of advanced grinding equipment. We need to develop a machine tool with high polishing efficiency and excellent performance.This paper is a comprehensive application of mechanical knowledge we have learned, It studies the whole structure and the hydraulic contour system design of metro rail grinding machine. The design of the hydraulic contour system is the key content of this thesis and its working principle is to use surface contour fitting grinding technology to grind rail’s top and side on the rail axis direction with weld to the center of the 150mm range. The paper consists of four parts, describes in detail the design content.The first part introduces the development condition of metro rail grinding machine from domestic to foreign and necessity to develop this machine and economic benefits it brings from burnishing the railway in our country. Secondly, designing machine tool’s whole mechanism and special fixture according to the grinding process and precision requirement, drawing its principle diagram; Thirdly, it comes up with contour system schemes in the basis of copying function module and makes the final scheme which can not only be functional,but also be economy-saving from comparing its feasibility and cost and know consists of hydraulic system and hydraulic principle diagram; Fourthly, building the model on the LMS Imagine. Lab AMEsim software interface, set parameters that system components workings, simulation test and optimization design after the complete designing hydraulic contour system.
