With the exhaustion of the oil resources, the sustainable development of road construction faced with enormous challenges. Therefore, research and development of new asphalt material to replace petroleum asphalt at home and abroad has become a hotspot in research of road engineering, and biological asphalt as potential new energy materials has been the researcher’s attention gradually, the production of biological asphalt, performance improvement and the study of pavement are imminent. Through the study found that the biological asphalt exists defects such as poor water stability, low temperature hard brittle, it is difficult to directly use in road construction at present, so it needs to be modified asphalt, improve its performance. The main purpose of this paper is to study modification technology of biological asphalt material, reveals the change law of performance and construction technology of modified biological asphalt mixture and road performance were studied.To make full use of bio-oil the components, this paper through the different process preparation of asphalt, and then by controlling the types of alcohol, and amount of alcohol, esterification temperature, the esterification time factors such as test method, to the analysis comparison of the esterification of asphalt performance, found that after adding 10% glycerol biological asphalt comprehensive performance has improved significantly.This article selects the best esterification biological and light component asphalt and mixture with modified asphalt to get more excellent performance modified biological asphalt. This article uses the penetration system and the SHRP system test method with different blending ratio of modified asphalt in performance evaluation, found that adding modified asphalt improved various properties of biological asphalt, through the analysis of the performance of biological asphalt modified further reveals the change rule under the condition of different blending ratio, by properties and economic factors, determined the best blending ratio of biological asphalt and modified asphalt is 3:7. At the same time adopt brine viscosity test, the quality loss test and design of hydrophilic test to analysis and evaluation the anti-aging properties and hydrophilic of modified biological asphalt. Through the analysis of biological asphalt viscosity-temperature curve to determine the best construction temperature, the modified esterification of biological asphalt: mixing temperature at 143 ~ 143 ℃, the compaction temperature at 133 ~ 137 ℃; the modified light oil biological asphalt: mixing temperature at 133 ~ 133 ℃, the compaction temperature at 128 ~ 132 ℃.Through the mixing process of mixture, the study found under the condition of different blending ratio, different mixing order affects the performance of asphalt mixture, determine the best mixing process under the condition of various blending ratio; Also found that the mixture and asphalt performance change largely in line with the change of blending ratio.In this article, through a comparison of the mixtures performance, found that the modified biological asphalt mixture has better water stability, and high and low temperature performance, can meet the relevant specification requirements. But based on the durable performance analysis of modified biological asphalt mixture and found that the water stable and low temperature performance significantly decreased with the aging degree deepen and its mixture specimen decreased obviously with the increase of fatigue life.
