| Nowadays, as people know more and more about tectonic theory, they start concentrating on the construction of architecture by a new angel. While in terms of architectural skin, the appearance and construction also be back from pure ornament to ontology, material’s performance. Moreover, tectonic also includes the logic and measurement of construction and a series of factors about spatial, culture and geography. In this case, tectonic is called "poetic construction". Poetry and construction are interrelated and interdependent. The form of expression is decided by construction, while the level of it is decided by poetry. Therefore this thesis will conduct research about metal architectural skin from the angels of ontology and spirit. Firstly, via literature review and case analysis, establish the frame of this thesis and analyze it from the aspects of construction, surface form and facade layer, combining culture, geography, aesthetic. Then, summarize the results of them to analyze and compare, accounting for the difference among different construction methods. Collect relevant approaches of expression and types while comparing different practical cases. At last, relevant design methods and expectation will be concluded. This thesis tries to show the comparative and well-rounded contemporary architectural metal skin’s tectonic logic and expression approaches. Hope it can offer referee for architects and inspire more possibility of metal design.The performance and processing level of metal is the practical restriction of architectural skin appearance. Metal skin shows different characteristics according to the scientific level and productivity in certain era. However, the contemporary architectural skin shows unique appearance, compared to before, due to the innovational revolution of manufacturing level and the emergence of computer, including nonlinear, multi-material combination, patterned and spatialization facade.This article discusses the metal material the possibility of skin used in the architectural design and the logical relationship between metal materials and its construction ways, based on the material properties of metal materials, in full metal material is studied in the epidermis expression and strategy. |
