High arch dam is located in river canyon, which has the characteristics of large drop height of dam, the huge discharged flow. narrow river downstream, steep terrain, etc. The large number of floods through dam body, with the sprayed distance in zhe air, concentrated flow,discharged power,which caused problems between the flood discharge and energy dissipation and the scour prevention.In view characteristics of arc Canyon high arch dam release flood waters, the traditional energy dissipation has been unable to meet some special requirements,which requires the traditional jet flow can be improved to meet the different requirements, to seek the energy dissipation type with the safety,economy,highlighting the special effect according to the characteristics of high arch dam, in order to ensure the stability and security of the main building.This paper introduced that the model energy dissipation structure of the shaped differential flip bucket with the wide tail pier combined energy dissipator is derived from the energy dissipation by trajectory jet.This research is based on a high arch dam model test, based on the research of the former work.system study of hydraulic characteristics including structural design,flow patterns,discharg capability,pressure characteristics.scouring characteristics,differential bucket trajectory distance and the atomization effect of shaped differential flip bucket with the wide tail pier combined, which is a reasonable and efficient new form of energy dissipation, have been carried out by the method of academic analysis and model tests.The form will increase the diffusion collision energy dissipation effect of the flow in the air, reduce the impact pressure of the water cushion pond bottom, guarantee the safety of the dam and energy dissipation structures and also reduce the investment of the project, shorten the construction period, provide the reference for the similar engineering flood discharge and energy dissipation design of high arch dams.
