As the china becomes the world’s largest factory, the gantry crane plays an important role in modern production,It has an irreplaceable role in some projects especially in the scene of the bridge construction, ports, mines, large shipyards and other large equipment manufacturing enterprises. Because the traditional experience design quality of gantry crane structure and dynamic performance is relatively poor, it is difficult to meet the needs of modern production. It increases the cost of production and reduces the efficiency of the crane, but it is difficult to meet the structure rationality and safety reliability of modern design.In this paper, on the premise of traditional gantry crane design, we adopt the combination of modern design method and the traditional design method to realize the design of the gantry crane, we use dynamic simulation and finite element to analyze the gantry crane and then to check the main girder, Two methods by experiment and simulation on the modal analysis are use to avoid the resonance effect of gantry crane. The main work is as follows:(1)Design experimental prototype of the key components of gantry crane and ensure the technical parameters of gantry crane,finally make it to use in the experiment and research.(2)Use the ADAMS to analyze the dynamic simulation of gantry crane. Through the data of the analysis we get out of its dangerous working condition and analyze the reason and solution.(3)Do something for gantry crane statics analysis and use ANSYS to analyze the finite element of gantry crane through various dangerous working condition obtained by dynamic simulation to get its strength and stiffness. We check its strength and stiffness,improve and optimize its structure.(4)Use ANSYS to analyze the modal of gantry crane, extract different working conditions of resonant frequency and the corresponding vibration mode, compare the different working conditions of resonance frequency and vibration mode and analyze the causes.(5)Based on the modal analysis theory, we use the DH-5920 to conduct modal analysis experiment. After the experimental data, we use DHMA that is brought by DH-5920 to get gantry crane actual resonance frequency and the corresponding vibration mode. Compared the real resonance frequency and vibration mode chart with virtual resonant frequency and vibration model of the ANSYS analysis and do some dynamic characteristics analysis.(6)Calculate and analyze the fatigue life of gantry crane. Based on the theory of fracture mechanics, we take use of Paris to estimate the service life of the gantry crane. Finally, we can estimate the service life of the gantry crane through the total cycles that we have got.Based on gantry crane dynamic analysis and the finite element static analysis, we can get the dangerous occasion, check its strength and stiffness, analyze its causes, improve and optimize its structure, we can also use modal experiment to verify the validity of the finite element analysis of gantry crane to avoid the resonance effect on service life. On the basis of the theory of fracture, we can estimate its service life. Thesis research results of the gantry crane have a certain practical value for design and production of gantry crane.
