It is believed that in the construction industry the competition among individual enterprises has been changed into the competition among supply chains. Therefore, improving the performance of supply chain management has become the key to enhance its core competitiveness. As important factors in project management, the effect of contractual governance and trust on EPC supply chain management performance improvement has become a hot topic. Meanwhile, the intermediary role of cooperation in the process of upgrading the performance also cannot be ignored. This paper seeks to address research hypothesis and conceptual model of the relationship among contractual governance, trust, cooperation, and EPC construction supply chain management performance by collecting questionnaires with 288 valid data in Tianjin and Beijing. Based on structural equation model, in this paper, SPSS and AMOS were used to test the reliability and validity. The results show that: a)contractual governance has a direct positive effect on EPC construction supply chain performance, but the effect on cooperative behavior is not significant(cooperation does not play intermediary role); b) trust shows not only some direct influence on performance, but also some indirect influence on it by intermediary role of cooperation; c) cooperation has a positive significant effect on the performance;d) different dimension of trust has different effects on cooperation and performance: system-based trust has a positive significant effect on cooperation and performance; the effect of cognition-based trust on performance is not significant, and it only has a positive effect on cooperation; affect-based trust has no effect on collaboration and performance. This paper introduced cooperative behavior as the intervening variable of contractual governance and EPC construction supply chain management performance; and discussed the impact path of contractual governance and trust on EPC construction supply chain management performance; and then revealed the black box of performance improvement. In addition, this paper used empirical analysis to study the relationship among contractual governance, different dimensions of trust, cooperation, and EPC construction supply chain management performance, which provided reference and support to enhance EPC construction supply chain efficiency and performance.
