Now the socio-economic and science technology had developed more and more quickly, we had built many hydraulic hub water engineering, in order to meet the demand of the irrigation, hydropower and urban water. Design and river characteristics and geological conditions are closely related headwork. But due to poorly designed water conservancy and other serious caused sediment deposition before intake, as a result of river conservancy scrapped, bright huge economic losses is necessary to design diversion project physical model tests, and further reasonable observations.In this paper, taking a diversion dam hub as a research objection, we tested the reasonableness of the intake design positions of the research model according to the information provided by the Engineering Design Institute we also analyzed the design scheme of the morphology of the water by the experiment. Based on the outcomes of the Research of the open question and the appearances the studies were as below:(1)The river had been taken straight before intake of the artificial bank, we changed the original curved river type to the straight river type, which made the flood of the water intake flow ratio increased sanctions. The water meat the power generation situation, but a lot of sediment had been brought into the intake into the channels, under low flow has been unable to meet the power needs.(2)The river section representing part headwork prototype had been broade ned, after the building of the hydro engineering. As compared with the firsthan d the streamway, as current speed velocity felled and with the same circumstan ces, the water transport rate dropped in front of a lot of sediment intake off t he silt.(3)The reach of the projection which is a multi-river sediment river. Therewas a steady stream of sediment had been supplied in the river source, whichmade the sediment transport ability of the river aggrandized,This also resulte d in the continuous deposition of sediment.(4)During the flood, as time goes on constantly in front of intake of sedi ment deposition, and gradually form a spindle-shaped body siltation, making th e water mostly from both sides of the spindle into the open channel siltation body, in this process of mutual runoff and river diversion channel top care, andthe flow of water into the canal lengthened, resulting in the flow of energy l oss, reducing the carrying capacity of water, more emphasis sediment depositio n before the intake.
