A PV controller with MPPT function is designed in this thesis. The main work is as fellows:1. The work principle of PV cell is introduced, the PV simulation model of radiation intensity and ambient temperature adjustable are built on Matlab/Simulink, and the output characteristic of PV cell is obtained.2. The work principle of MPPT is introduced, the advantages and disadvantages of the most widely used classical MPPT control algorithm are also summered, and the P&O algorithm is focused on. Because misjudgment will occur when rapid changes in radiation intensity, and the fixed step size will cause a larger steady-state oscillation, the improved P&O based on variable step is chosen, which can effectively improve the dynamic performance and stability of the system.3. The main circuit of the PV controller is introduced. A two-phase interleaving Buck circuit is chosen as the main circuit of PV controller. The simulation model of PV MPPT based on Buck circuit is built to verify the performance of MPPT control algorithm.4. The hardware and software design of PV controller are completed, and a prototype of PV MPPT controller based on TMS320F2808 control is produced. The experiments in a fixed environmental conditions and changeful environmental conditions are carried on to verify the performance of the MPPT algorithm in actual practice.
