Line loss rate is an important technical and economic indicator of the electricity apartment, which directly reflects the power of enterprise technology and management. China has the world’s largest rural power network, huge rural power user base, and wide coverage area. Considering the complicated characteristics of rural network itself, the line loss calculation of rural network faces many difficulties, such as lacking a complete line of structural parameters, owning old rural network equipments, excessive raw data to be collected and the like. Given the factors above, improving the accuracy and efficiency of the rural power line loss calculation is a quite vital issue which worths thinking repeatedly.The operating data of Power Authority in Linxiang City, Hunan Province is collected in this thesis. And structure data of district lines in Linxiang City is recorded based on field mapping at the same time. In this paper, the types of three phase unbalanced load has been divided, and their characteristics and the influences of line loss have been analyzed by depicting the load curve drawing. Due to the defects such as the low accuracy of the equivalent resistance method to single unbalanced type line loss calculation results, and being unable to calculate the loss of two or more mixtures of unbalanced type, calculating the three-phase unbalanced load loss based on periods of time have been put forward. By making comparison of the two algorithms, we can prove feasibility of the theoretical line loss calculation of coefficient, which is based on periods of time.Finally, in accordance with the design requirements of line loss calculation software, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 was chosen as the database, the Java programming language was used in Eclipse platform to develope a set of line loss calculation software which is low voltage power network oriented.The correctness of calculation software was verified through the two methods above.
