Simulation Research On Clutch Control During AMT Vehicle Shifting

Automated mechanical transmission(AMT) is a new product of automatic transmission technology. Its advantages such as high transmission efficiency, low cost and simple structure, have made it play an important role in AMT family. It adds electronic control system onto dry clutch and shaft gear transmission so that it can automatically control clutch and shift. Clutch control is a very important module of AMT system. Its quality decides the overall performance of AMT system. This paper analyzes the factors of vehicle gear shift quality and key points during shift process, and also studies the control method of how to improve shift quality.This paper mainly covers below points:Firstly, take push diaphragm spring clutch as the study object, I use UG software to construct 3D model of clutch assemble,construct diaphragm spring’s “Load-Deformation” curve and the pressure mathematical model of clutch, lay the design foundation of AMT clutch execution organization.Secondly, based on the study of clutch joint process, I construct the dynamic mathematical model of engine, clutch and vehicle transmission system, then analyze the dynamic theory of different steps of vehicle shift process. Take jerk and friction work as the assessment index of clutch control performance, I put forward the clutch control plan of vehicle gear shift.Use fuzzy control method to design clutch controller. Controller takes jerk and rotation speed difference of clutch active wheel and driven wheel as the input parameter, takes clutch joint speed as output parameter.Thirdly, use matlab/Simulink software to construct clutch simulation model. The simulation result indicates fuzzy control strategy can meet the control demand and realize smooth clutch joint during gear shift. Use ADAMS software to construct the dynamic simulation model of clutch,Input the simulation data of matlab/Simulink software as the initial condition into adams system to verify the effectiveness of controller.
