An Analyze Of Interior Design For Resort Hotel: According To Regional Features

In recent years, with the rapid development of economy in our country, discretionary wealth of citizens increased dramatically, then their consumption idea has changed so much; They start to care about the quality of life more than before, which can be understood through their higher demand for tour, a mentally-pleasing product. Vocation tours are very popular and likely to be the the trend of tourism, because they are always relaxing and could be abundantly and freely arranged. Holiday boom driven the development of China’s Resort Hotel. Most packers are no longer satisfied with simply tour accommodation. They require more comfortable,pleasing and different cultural experience. Experiential marketing age has come, resort hotels need to provide an all-sided leisure experience, besides food and accommodation, to tourists. This experience could become more complete and attractive while the resort hotels combine the native natural and cultural environment together. While the design of resort hotel depends on the natural landscape and local humanities could make them show the regional characteristics. Therefore, the interior design that fits to regional characteristics is the extremely important part of design content.This thesis will summarize the concept and features of resort hotels and classify them into three categories: Natural scenery, Thematic cultural and Health recovering. We will analyze, through the basic ideas of regional design, what the regional characteristics mean to the resort hotels and why these characteristics are regionally important to hotels. After that, we will study some classic cases all over the world and discuss their regional features, through which we can develop some design strategy. Basing on the case analysis, the thesis puts forward the principles and key points of the interior design of the resort hotel which fits the regional features. At last, through the author ’s participation in a resort hotel interior design project, the thesis discusses the design strategies of the resort hotel interior space, and reflects the relevant theory.The author hope to provide some valuable reference to regional hotel design by writing this thesis.
