Considering the smart grid is the new trend of power grid development, this paper designed a power distribution system using the cloud computing technology. The main content is divided into three parts:Firstly, the hardware architecture was designed based on cloud computing according to the actual demand situation of the intelligent power distribution network. Besides, this paper introduces the methods of realizing the intelligent execution unit using the traditional equipment, and gives the corresponding technical solutions.Secondly,it improves the structure of the existing power grid based on cloud computing and related technologies. This paper preliminarily discusses the ideas of electricity distribution network in a global meaning.Cloud computing optimizes the classifications of the system equipments and implifies the model structure of the network,laying the foundation of creating the whole smart system.Finally, through the analysis of examples,this paper shows the improvement of the power grid’s performance by cloud computing.And through the actual application, this paper analyzes the significance and functions of smart power grid.To sum up, although this paper has made some achievements in the design and realization of the smart grid based on cloud computing,there are also many shortcomings that need to be further studied and practiced.For example, there is a serious shortage of accumulation of decision data and running data in the existing system, resulting that the further application of the system is temporarily unable to be realized, and the deepen direction of the system is to be given the enough data support.
