Along with the constantly development of our country railway industry, the preventing of railway injury is now a very important work. Most of the railway injury prevention alarm are placing a button or indicators or siren and flashing light in the tunnel, or on a bridge or accident key areas. Based on the judgement, and then ringing the alarm equipment by manual work to remind the pedestrians to keep away from the railway.This is not only cumbersome, but may cause some errors, such as misinformation, extension and omission. In ordor to simplify system and reduce hard ware costs and the chances of false positives, it is necessary to design a railway injury prevention automatic alarm system. Through the automatic alarm system, It can provide effective data management for real-time monitoring, automatic alarm to ensure the safety of locomotive running.Based on the analysis of existing alarm system, we design and realize an railway injury prevention automatic alarm system which is adapted to the specific demands of system’s security, reliability and low-power consumption. The automatic alarm system in the paperuses mobile communication networks as communication channel, and combines some new technologies, which are Global Position System(GPS) location technique, General Packet Radio Service(GPRS) technique, low power consumption technology and so on. In the aspect of hardware design, it includes transmitting module, crossing receiving module and server processing module. Through analyzing the unreliability factors and the higher power consumption factors of power circuit, control circuits and communications circuits, it provides the design of hardware circuits to realize the reliability and low power consumption, and then implements the analysis and verification about the reliability and low power consumption of hardware. In the aspect of software design, we use an extreme sleep mode to achieve ultra-low power consumption, and we design and realize light weight multiplex communication protocol on embedded processor which basded on TCP/IP protocol. We consolidate the reliability and low power consumption from two aspects of hardware design and software design, which laise a good foundation for the design target of the railway injury preventation automatic alarm system.The practical applications indicate that the design of alarm system can satisfy the safety requirements in accuracy, reliability, low-power and functionality. It reaches the expected effect and the product maturity, and it has been put into practical application and small lot production.
