The development of railway heavy haul transportation have been paid more attention by more and more countries, because of its large capacity and high efficiency. But with the increase of unit train axle load and the improvement of quality of traction, the disease of railway are gradually coming out. This paper focus on the theory and application about bridge information management system of heavy haul railway. To master health status of bridge of heavy haul railway, we must adopt the scientific management pattern and establish a set of completely bridge information management system. The research production can provide technology guarantees for the safe operation of bridges. and launch the research at follows works.(1)The influence of existing railway bridge under heavy haul transportation and analysis of bridge diseases. It analysis the effect on the structure under the maximum load or different loads of various vehicles. Then combine with the conditions of heavy haul railway to raise the common diseases of bridge of heavy haul railway and analyze the reason, the most dangerous type of bridge are also induced.(2)Assessment of degradation and evaluation of special test. The method of condition assessment based on surface inspection is studied deeply. The research also highlighted a comprehensive evaluation method. Based on the analytic hierarchy process(AHP). the qualification of the norms are introduced, the assessment model of railway bridges is established, The results of the assessment of degradation examples demonstrate that the method described is feasible. The method of condition assessment based on special test is studied. This paper presents the purpose of bridge operation performance test and the standard of the examination. Then, summed up the factors that influence the target limit. A comparison between measured and calculated values is made.(3)Design and implementation of bridge management information system of heavy haul railway. Each modules of the bridge management information system of heavy haul railway are designed for the realization of the bridge condition evaluation, maintenance and priority ranking about maintenance. In the end, the bridge management information system software is implemented.
