In the Twentieth Century, modernism architecture swept the world, changed the last for thousands of years of classical architectural style. The artistic modeling of the modernism architecture art which has the characteristics of simple, economic and affordable was in line with the new aesthetic, showing industrial spirit. But to the 1950’s, many works of European and American architectural masters in the 1920’s and 1930’s after a long period of use around and plagiarism, eventually formed the same doctrine. Especially the ossified international box type construction after the Second World War looked the same and was lack of artistic personality. The crisis of modernism architecture arose. Thereafter, a number of different modified trend to the international style emerged, such as Fornalism, Brutalism, Organic Functionalism, "high-tech" style, etc.. In the 1970’s, it appears the "postmodernism" way to adjust mass thoroughly to modernism and internationalism style. Deconstructivism, New Modernism were increasingly drawing attention in the architecture. Modern architecture also landed on the stage of Chinese architecture, and formed a diversification pattern. Architectural theory directly influences the architectural design and creation, thus, reflection on architecture schools and theory is a necessary thing. Thomas Kuhn put forward the concept of "paradigm" in "The Structure of Scientific Revolution". Architectural theorist G-Broadbent thinks that architectural design style is roughly equivalent to the "scientific paradigm". Classical architecture and modernism architecture can use two different paradigms to define, transformation of the former to the latter can be regarded as architectural paradigm revolution. From the modernism architecture development so far, after the emergence of the crisis of modernism architecture, some people offer suggestions for improvement, some people advocate a radical change, people adopt different strategy when the crisis emerges. Now various architecture schools act as one pleases, leading to the presenting messy aspect, which is similar to the former conventional science stage of the paradigm theory. The revolutionary transformation from the classical architecture to the modern architecture, the development and transformation of the modern architecture after the emergence of the crisis of the modernism architecture, the analysis of the emergence and development of modern architecture from the perspective of paradigm, help us to better understand the development of architecture and guide the development direction of architecture.
