In order to shorten the time limit for a project in concurrent engineering, two things should be considered, namely mining the parallelism among tasks and the control of task granularity.Due to the difference of the nature of multi-functional team’s work in concurrent engineering, the overlap and conflict of mission planning during product development often occur, which results in a lot of information conflicts. These conflits have great impact on the project.To eliminate these problems, ensure the reasonable use of resources and try to shorten the construction period, in this paper, the resources in concurrent engineering are classified and described, especially the main object for research is ‘not wasting resources’;Then the conflicts resulted from the resources are analyzed combined with instances in concurrent engineering, which are divided into conflict during task decomposition and conflict during task scheduling.The first resource conflict is defined as ‘information resource conflicts in process’ according to the form of conflict.For this conflict,this paper finishes the basic task decomposition by WBS and DSM firstly,uses DSM to describe the task’s structure then,eliminates or weakens the information resource conflicts in process through optimizing the DSM lastly.What’s more,this paper shows the resolution algorithm for the second resource conflict exsting in task scheduling.This paper discusses in detail the relationship between resource conflict,tasks’ s parallelism and the task granularity firstly, then defines the atomic task and complex task during the dissolution of information resource conflicts in process based on task decomposition;Based on this, the task model and the principles of task decomposition are obtained. Also, the constraint functions for task decomposition are listed; Finally,this paper optimizes the DSM model from basic task decomposition by transforming its row and column,thus eliminates or weakens the conflicts and produces effective task partitioning schemes.When eliminating resource conflicts during task scheduling process, this paper presents the basic model of task scheduling under the constraints of the time limit for a project,resources,the prior tight scheduling tasks and the inferior tight tasks.Subsequently, after showing the temporal relations between tasks and resource--task matching matrix combining with the characteristics of design structure matrix and vector,this paper presents two ways to eliminate conflicts basing on task priority and free resources.For the task priority,the principle of evaluating task’s priority is described,and for the free resources, this paper shows two methods,namely maximizing the number of prior task configurated enough resources and impoving the efficiency of utilization of resources.Thus,in combination with the two resource conflict resolution methods,the resource conflict resolution scheme during task scheduling is obtained on the basis of the task scheduling model given earlier.Finally this paper puts the resultant conflict resolution scheme into effect by a mechanical product design instance, elimates resource conflict during task division and task scheduling successfully, thus verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method and embodies the practicality and value of this study.
